Local sport, individual experiences

Two athletes can compete in the same sport and experience it completely differently. Their history, relationships, ambitions, fears and understanding of themselves matter. Effective psychological support therefore starts by listening before deciding what needs to change.

Performance and wellbeing belong together

Performance does not exist separately from the person performing. Conversations may involve pressure, confidence or concentration, but they may also involve identity, belonging, expectations, transitions and the meaning sport has in someone's life.

Working with teams and clubs

Clubs can use sport psychology beyond one-to-one sessions. Identity workshops, team discussions, coach development, observation and culture work can help connect what a club says it values with the behaviours people actually experience.

An existentially informed approach

My work focuses strongly on courage, authenticity, choice, responsibility and meaning. This means asking not only how an athlete can perform better, but also who they want to be when pressure, uncertainty and difficult choices appear.
